The unlock button on my car remote sets off the alarm?
My car alarm goes off when I press the unlock button on my remote. The first time this consistently happened I assumed teh battery became weak. After replacing the battery the problem seems to have been solved, but the unlock button began triggering the alarm only weeks after replacement so it can’t be the battery again. Why does this happen?
it’s aftermarket. The remote itself reads “Commander” with the “O” being a crosshair.
Is it a factory or aftermarket alarm? What is the year make and model? And if it is aftermarket the who made it?
It really sounds like an installation error or your unlock circuit and your alarm circuit are shorted together. It is also possible that a controller error is to blame. Take it to whoever installed it or a ASE electrical certified technician.
