Component cable to Hdmi question and converter to connect 2 male component cables together?
I have the xbox 360 20gb version, which means it did not come with an HDMI slot, only gives me RGB and Component cables. Now I have a computer screen with an HDMI slot, but no component. I seen a coord where its a male hdmi end and male component ends, so i could plug the hdmi into my screen and here comes my problem,
Im left with male component cables on the end of the hdmi coord and from my xbox, is there any double female converter which i could connect the 2 male component cables together? or do you think i can just cut the wires and solder em together

I have seen these HDMI to component cables on a couple of websites. You need to be wary as these are fakes sold at low prices.
Component is an analogue signal and HDMI is digital. You cannot convert one to the other without a digital to analogue conversion box. This is pointless and expensive.
If anyone in Yahoo Answers land knows of a legitimate use for this HDMI to component cable please speak up, otherwise I will continue to consider it a con.
You need to get a display that supports component or trade the xbox to an HDMI version.
