How can I connect my laptop with wireless internet at home?
I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop on which I have had a Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI card installed. My desktop at home is running off a 54 Mbps Wireless DSL Gateway internet connection.
How can I get the laptop to find the internet connection? I am a complete novice and completely lost!
Click the ‘Start’ button.
Go to Settings > Network Connections > Wireless Connections
It will open a Dialog box for Wireless Connection Status
Click “View Wireless Networks”
It will open a dialog box Wireless Network Connections
Click “Refresh Network List”
You will get the available networks in the display box.
Select your network, and click “connect”
You should be connected with this, but mind you I am assuming that you have the wireless router turned on and configured. That you know the name configured in the router.And I hope that it has WEP enabled so that your surfing is secure and no one else can use your bandwidth.

If push comes to shove, just plug a network cable into your laptop from the wireless router. The guys who manufacture these gizmos know that they have to provide an escape route from the unnecessary complexities in the device setup.
